Knudsen数与最小网格尺寸
A parameter that is commonly used to identify the onset of low density effects is the Knudsen number, which is the ratio of the mean free path to a charactristic dimension of the body. Although there is no definitive criterion, the continuum flow model starts to break down when the Knudsen number is roughly of the order of 0.1.

对于A320这样的所谓大飞机,其经济巡航高度为11920米,参考长度取平均气动弦长大约在4.4米左右,按照257~300纳米这么一个量级的分子平均自由程估算,求解NS流动方程的计算网格(如果按照飞机的真实尺寸生成)其最小尺度不得小于2.57~3.00微米(备注:1微米=10^-6米)。
这大概应该是采用NS方程求解A320之类飞机外流场时进行网格收敛分析的极限吧。
