IBM was invented by Charles Peskin at Courant Institute of Mathematics (which belongs to NYU, http://math.nyu.edu/faculty/peskin/). However, IBM is very popular and ubiquitous.

Instead of asking where is the best (or good) place to study IBM, a more appropriate question would be, I believe, that where is a good place to study CFD in general, for IBM is just a technique which can be easily mastered if you know CFD well. In the US, there are many schools which offer good programs in CFD. In fact, almost any big and good university in the US and Europe offers that. You also need to decide under which department you want to study CFD: mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, civil engineering, or applied mathematics. This would depends on your background and interests.

谢谢更正。我也就是记个大概，结果搞成了隔壁的学校了。

既然说起学习方向，我想首先搞清楚到底是要搞数值方法本身，还是对某些应用更感兴趣。特别是，很多算法的产生都是和应用需求密切相关的。像有限元，以及IBM。我在网上看的介绍，似乎是这个peskin要算心脏里的血液流动，而心脏的几何形状及其复杂，同时雷诺数又不高，才搞了这么个算法。
像我搞叶轮机械，根本就不会用IBM，那得多少网格啊！

IBM的确是在那种情况下诞生的，不过现在的发展已经到了复杂外形，高雷诺数的情况了
不知道版主对CFD的算法有没有研究，最近想把IBM的理论整到CFD软件里面做一些简单的计算
目前在学习FORTRAN，但是CFD软件的程序看得实在是头大，完全不知道怎么下手。。。求指教
