Abstract of one paper:
The objective of this paper is to provide a systematic treatment of the stationary equilibrium dynamic solutions in large congested networks. We describe a new approach, Stable Dynamics, that is based only on logical assumptions, and is amenable to a rigorous mathematical description. All parameters in use have a direct physical meaning and interpretation. We show existence of the stationary solutions under fairly weak assumptions. We illustrate the ‡exibility of Stable Dynamics approach by two examples: mode choice and endogenous origin-destination matrices. For completeness, we present (and criticize) the standard static tra¢c assignment models and discuss the key dierences.

Yu. NESTEROV et al develop a new theory of static equilibrium in congested transportation networks.
Yu. NESTEROV et al show that under some natural assumptions, the Wardrop principle leads to a very strong relation between the loading of the arc, arc flow and arc travel time. This relation allows us to simplify significantly the arc performance model.
Yu. NESTEROV et al  showthat instead of fixing a functional form of travel time function, Yu. NESTEROV et al can obtain equilibrium solutions for static traffic assignment models using only some natural bounds for arc travel time and arc flow.
Yu. NESTEROV et al compare the results of our model with the results of standard Beckmann model.
