Our research group has an opening for a postdoctoral researcher to develop detailed kinetic mechanisms of low-temperature (i.e., <100 oC) oxidation of lignocellulosic materials and coals. The work has practical applications to self-heating and spontaneous ignition. The scope of the investigation necessitates careful experiments involving isothermal and adiabatic reactors, TGA/DSC/MS, XPS and FTIR in conjunction with ab-initio modelling of reaction pathways.
The appointment will be initially for one year, with option for renewal for additional one or two years.
A successful candidate would (i) be output oriented, (ii) have undergraduate and doctoral degrees in chemistry, chemical engineering, physics or mechanical engineering, (iii) possess strong track record of publications in leading international journals and (iv) have excellent written and oral communication skills.
