Event: Fluid-Structure-Interaction with FLUENT and ABAQUS
Date and Time: Friday, November 11, 2005
3:00 am, China Standard Time (GMT +08:00, Beijing) Change time zone
Panelist(s) Info: Mark Pelzer, PhD, Senior CFD Engineer, Chemical, Processing and Material
Duration: 1 hour
Description: Please join us for this special event to learn about the
finite element program ABAQUS and the fluid dynamics code
FLUENT provide best-in-class simulation solutions in
their respective application areas. With the MpCCI
technology provided by Fraunhofer SCAI, the two codes now
can be used to simulate fluid-structure interaction (FSI).
This enables the user to simulate both sequential and fully
coupled FSI problem with high accuracy. The communication of
results between the two codes is handled by Fraunhofer SCAI
technology MpCCI, making the FSI coupling between ABAQUS and
FLUENT accurate and user friendly. In the presentation the
technical background of the FSI approach will be presented
and several examples from automotive applications will be
demonstrated.
Your Presenter:
Mark Pelzer, PhD, Senior CFD Engineer Chemical, Processing
and Material, Fluent Germany. Dr. Pelzer joined the Fluent
team in October of 2000. At Fluent, he is involved in CFD
projects for various material and chemical applications and
for various fluid structure interaction projects. He earned
his diploma in solid matter physics from the Faculty of
Mathematics, Computer Sciences and Natural Sciences at the
RWTH Aachen, and a PhD in foundry engineering from the
Foundry Institute at the RWTH Aachen.
