About PhD Scholarships
Several PhD scholarships are available at Civil and Infrastructure Engineering Discipline of the School of Engineering at RMIT University. You can choose one of the following three categories:
• PhD scholarship of a net stipend of up to AUD 30,000 per year plus full tuition fee subsidy of AUD35,520 per year for three years. You may apply for an extension of up to six months subject to satisfactory progress and school approval;
• If you apply through China Scholarship Council (CSC), you will automatically get the full tuition fee waived. The net stipend will be around AUD 20,000 per year determined by CSC; or
• Self financial PhD scholarship is also available with full tuition fee waived. The PhD candidate may have the opportunity to take part-time Research Assistant or Teaching Assistant to cover a portion of the living cost in Melbourne.
If your application is successful, you will be undertaking cutting-edge research regarding CFD modeling, renewable energy system, HVAC system, bushfire assessment or the related with Professor Sujeeva Setunge, Associate Professor Kevin Zhang, and Dr. Long Shi. You will be possibly involved in practical research projects such as AUD1.4 million project funded by the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC.

Eligibility
The scholarship is for PhD Research students only. To be considered for a scholarship you must hold, or be currently completing:
• a Master by research in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or the related;
• Candidates with background of CFD modeling experience, renewable energy system, HVAC system or bushfire risk assessment will be highly valued for application;
• IELTS of at least 6.5 without any band lower than 6.0;
• Candidate with SCI-indexed journal papers will be preferred; and
• Strong academic English writing skills.
