Dear Fluent Customer,

We are very pleased to announce that we signed a definitive agreement for ANSYS to acquire Fluent.  We expect to close the transaction on or around April 3rd, 2006 after we get the requisite approvals (government agencies, shareholders, and bondholders).  This acquisition will combine the leading structural analysis software company with the leading fluid flow analysis software company.  We will create a company focused on and capable of providing best-in-class CAE tools to our customers, integrated in a manner that will allow easy and rapid analyses of engineering designs.

Please be assured that you will see no detrimental changes in our interactions with you. We will continue with our industry-leading products and customer support.  In other words, nothing will change until the transaction closes.

Once the transaction has closed, you will see an increase in the range of simulation capabilities available to you from the combined companies.  Our development plans will most likely be augmented  with additional features and capabilities that will come from access to ANSYS technology.  We will also work to provide a close integration between Fluent and ANSYS products.  More detailed information will be provided once the transaction is closed and we have had a chance to work on the integration plans.

We are very excited about this business combination since it will allow us to provide you with new technology faster and create close coupling between various multi-physics analyses capabilities that the two companies have.  This will allow you to do the various engineering analyses much more efficiently.

ansys疯狂敛财，自己在软件性能上不思进取，一竞争不过别人就扔钱收购。
然后再把好软件慢慢给搞死，估计fluent很快就要推出10.0版了，而不是像以前那样6.0、6.1、6.2、6.3慢慢地过渡了。
看看cfx被收购没几天，就有了10.0版，ansys的严谨态度可见一斑。
再看看ansys自己，帮助文件错误百出，界面更不用说了，多少年了，错误都没更正！
去死吧，ansys！为fluent感到悲哀！

Journey老兄看来对CAD/CAE行业的大局没什么感觉。其实明眼人稍微想一下，就不难猜出Ansys这次买下Fluent是有点急。前一阵达索买下Abaqus，而Ansys这次显然是想抢在达索之前有买下Fluent，以免后患。会下围棋的恐怕不难理解这一招对CAE行业大局的影响吧。
另外，就技术而言，CFX的耦合多重网格求解器（coupled multi-grid solver）的确做得不错，Journey估计是没用过CFX吧，兄弟我倒是比较过CFX和Fluent。 CFX的收敛性、可靠性、求解速度及并行能力等的确比Fluent要好很多。俗话说，外行看热闹，内行看门道。我建议Journey还是多比比门道。我们玩CFD的弟兄们最关心的就是下面几项技术：
网格能力（Fluent Gambit不如ICEM CFD）；
精确性（Fluent不如CFX，人家CFX默认的差分格式就是二阶的，而Fluent用二阶格式时很难收敛）；
可靠性（Fluent不如CFX。凭心而论，CFX的耦合求解器比Fluent收敛快多了。那时数量级的差别。）
并行能力（Fluent也不如CFX。兄弟曾用这两种软件在多CPU机群上算飞机外流等问题，Fluent太慢了。）
后处理（Fluent的后处理图太土了，相比之下CFX的图漂亮、专业多了。）
还有FSI：Journey兄在你的贴子里怎么还在说“大家过去关心的FSI（流体结构的瞬态耦合）问题在不远的将来会更加方便的实现。” 而事实上，去年下半年Ansys 10.0发布的CFX和Ansys Mechanical之间的双向耦合就已经实现了这一功能。我试了一下，的确很好用，而且效果不错哦。Journey兄弟，不是你不明白，这世界变化快。看来你得好好学学新的技术，跟上形势喽。 
公平地说，CFX最近两年的发展势头的确厉害，我所认识的很多兄弟（包括我在内）现在都在转用CFX。我真是建议Journey老兄自己好好比较一下这些软件，再别说一些过时的外行话。FluentChina（飞昂）成立不到一年，总经理就给换掉。其苦衷，你打个电话去问问FluentChina的弟兄就知道了。我有一个朋友在飞昂做技术工程师，说去年和CFX打考题打得太累了。想想看，网格生成不如别人，最要命的是计算精度、速度和收敛性也都不如CFX，怎么玩嘛。
依兄弟我看，Ansys那帮真是玩“兼并”的高手，已经废了Fluent的CEO（已变成“顾问”），再留下Fluent的COO给一个VP（副总裁）的角色，让说不定把很多Fluent的员工都给蒙了。信不信我们赌一下，过一阵就把这个VP也架空，再来个大裁员。我想读过MBA的都不难理解这一标准过程吧。再说句大白话，被兼并的公司总是“后娘养的”，而且你要是仔细看一下公司合并后董事会成员的话，你会发觉Fluent的人只占1/8。 所以让Ansys收购后，Fluent的声音会很小，其现有员工被裁掉的可能性太大。人家Ansys的那帮老江湖早就已经准备好后事了，你还以为真是“强强联合了”？
Fluent现在最大的问题就是，具体核心技术上比CFX落后、处于劣势，所以在被兼并后，你凭什么和别人“强强联合”。怎么可能把别人换掉，留下自己人呢？Ansys多半只是想通过购买Fluent、废掉其抵抗后，以其新的CFX技术快速占领Fluent的现有市场而已。若是平等联合，Ansys决不会花那么多钱。人家现在可是花大钱把Fluent的控制权买下，不留给达索。傻瓜才会相信有人会花这么多钱仅仅和你平等地联合。要知道，Ansys的CEO可是个犹太人，精着呢。 
